Cómo Hacer Que Te Pasen Cosas Buenas

Marian Rojas Estapé

In this book, the author goes deep into biological details of how our mind works. She also talks a little about her personal experience, and finally gives advice on how to live a better life from a psychiatric perspective.

  • The quality of relationships is the only real predictor of longevity and happiness.

  • Laughter is the smallest distance between two people.

  • Focus more on how to get out of the problem, not on the problem.

  • The way you project yourself stimulates the creative areas of the brain.

  • Dream big, act small. Your brain changes when you dream, when you imagine. Neuroasticity.

  • Ideas are had, in beliefs we exist. Identity is constructed. The words and the inner narrative determine everything else.

  • Happiness is not what happens to us, it is how we process what happens to us.

In general it is an information dense book. It touches upon topics that other books cover, but backed by science and some personal stories. In general I find it interesting, but is not a light book. If you are interested in emotional intelligence, or psychology I would recommend this book.
